There were already numerous films about the background of the 1976 Air France plane. Some tried to scrutinize historical facts, others focused on the political aspect, which even today is still hotly topical. Filmmaker José Padilha does not even bother with the latter in his thriller "7 Tage in Entebbe", as he is much more interested in making a film that tries to please all viewers. The year is 1976: Two Germans and two Palestinians are heavily armed in the Air France flight from Tel Aviv to Paris. Barely lifted off the ground, they bring the pistol and a hand grenade in hand, the machine under control and force the pilots to divert them to Uganda. There are already more Palestinians in support, but the Germans Wilfried evil (Daniel Brühl) and Brigitte Kuhlmann (Rosamund Pike) is now only a minor role.

Together with dictator Idi Amin (Nonso Anozie), they are trying instead to blackmail the Israeli government, but this does not even think of negotiating with terrorists. While Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin (Lior Ashkenazi) is considering a move away from strict attitudes, Defense Minister Shimon Peres (Eddie Marsan) plans to land with a special unit in Uganda to deal with the terrorists. The days are drawing and suddenly the ultimatum of the terrorists expires.

In fact, in the numerous filming of the known events surrounding the kidnapping of the Air France machine has already been said everything. For filmmaker José Padilha (Narcos) this was apparently still not enough and so he found himself together with screenwriter Gregory Burke ('71: Behind enemy lines) forced to rework the events of that time again. For the script, both kept close to the known facts, but although these were reported by eyewitness quite contradictory at the time, he sometimes forms a firm opinion.
